A deep dive into the intersection of documentary and dramatic filmmaking. Renowned cinematographers with experience across various types of productions share their thoughts on crafting stylized documentaries and dramas that feel documentary-like.

Gosia Szylak, PSC, A cinematographer of several award-winning documentaries (Communion, Three Women, End of the World) and feature films (Wild Roses, Anatomy, Erotica 2022, The Horse Tail).
She received her film education at the Lódz Film School and also a graduate of art history at the University of Warsaw. She is a member of European Film Academy.

Pia Lehto, FSF is a Finnish cinematographer based in Stockholm. She studied Cinematography and Editing at Arcada University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki (2008–2012), and went on to complete the Cinematography program at the Stockholm University of the Arts (2012–2015).
Known for her intuitive and emotionally driven style, she works across genres, from fiction to television and documentary. Her recent credits include The Gullspång Miracle (Guldbagge Award 2024), The King (2023), and the documentary series Historien om Sverige (2023/24)

Jon Rudberg, FSF, is a Swedish cinematographer working in both fiction and documentary.
He has shot around fifteen documentaries for television and theatrical release worldwide, often focusing on themes such as human rights, migration, and social issues in post-conflict and conflict areas.
In fiction, some of his recent productions include Tunna Blå Linjen – Seasons 1, 2, and 3, Den som dräper, De Förbannade Åren 3, and Hålla Samman.
Jon is a member of the FSF and the European Film Academy.

Marek Septimus Wieser, FSF is a Polish/Swedish cinematographer based in Stockholm.
He was educated at the Polish film school PWSFTviT in Łódź and works internationally on feature films and drama series.
Marek made his breakthrough with the TV series Det Nya landet in 2000.
Marek’s most recent drama productions as cinematographer are Tigrar, Afterwar, Young Royals, Karantina and Stenbeck.
